Book excerpt: According to this research, which used both quantitative and qualitative methods, in the study area of Karatu district, Arusha, Tanzania, the practice of modern contraceptive methods was low despite the high knowledge of the methods. There is a need to increase and improve family planning programs and address the issue of side effects associated with the use of modern contraceptive methods. In addition, men have to be involved in family planning programs as their gender position was highly associated with their wives’ use of modern contraception.
