Book excerpt: There are many in the church today that believe God doesn't reveal Himself in the lives of people in this modern day. The prevalent thought is that miracles, signs, and wonders were only part of the early church and that after the ascension of Jesus they stopped because they were only a part of His earthly ministry. What we must come to realize is this; the same power that raised Christ from the grave, that healed people, and raised the dead resides within each Christian. Jesus said in John 14:12, "that whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." What we as Christians must understand is that the power of God is available to each of us because of the indwelling Holy Spirit. God expects us to use this wonderful gift to edify one another bringing about unity in the body which ultimately brings Glory to Him. I can assure you that the power of God is still at work in these days and He does continually reveal Himself to His people. Jesus Himself said He would do whatever we ask in His name to bring glory to the Father. Jesus also said if we won't believe what He says, we should at least believe in the evidence of the results themselves. Miracles, signs, and wonders.
