First, existing and most recent research results in the area of nonlinear robust control design are summarized. Second, properties and features of nonlinear robust control are exposed through simple examples. To show the potential that robust control theory can be applied to weapons systems, a electrical mechanical system, flexible-joint robot, is used as a prototype to proceed the design. Finally, the current research topics in theory and applications of nonlinear robust control are outlined.
