Book excerpt: Maturity doesn't come from having experiences alone but from reflecting on those experiences. This workbook presents a guided journaling process that mirrors the natural sequence of our brain and body's experience of emotions so that you can sort through complicated emotional experiences and find wisdom. The Five A Process, drawn from the book The Wisdom of Your Heart, teaches you how to process emotional experiences. The steps--Attend, Articulate, Ask, Assay and Apply--help you identify and understand what you are feeling so that you can glean wisdom from your emotions and decide how to act on that emotion in a constructive way.The Untangle Workbook teaches the steps of this journaling process and then provides a detailed journaling template that walks the user through the process for a specific emotional experience. Ten sets of this template are provided in the workbook, allowing the user to process ten different emotional matters. The Untangle Workbook is a supplement to The Wisdom of Your Heart, but reading that book is not necessary for using the journaling template provided in this workbook.
