He married Minerva Lee Fleming (1871-1963), daughter of William and Lue Eliza H. Jones Moody Fleming, 1887 in Montaque Co., Texas. She was born in Bell, Grayson Co., Texas. They were parents of twelve children born in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. Family traveled a lot between Oklahoma and Texas until in 1923 settled in Arizona. John William died at home in Coolidge, Arizona. Descendants live in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Oklahoma and elsewhere.
