But when her dad gets drafted into the war, the two of them begin sending letters back and forth, with most of his letters trying to encourage her into trying out for the softball team, and to her surprise, she makes the team. But Erica's world falls apart when she hears the news of her dad's untimely death. To help deal with her dad's death, Erica and her teammates vow to win the state championship in memory of her father. aEURf
