(John 8:58) Jesus Christ was not shy about who He was: He didn't hide His identity. He brought it out in the open, for all to see. However, too many people didn't want to see who Him for who He was. That can be said for our day and age as well. Jesus is hiding in plain sight. Anyone can get to know Him. All they have to do is open the pages of the Bible and He is there, ready to be discovered. God is calling His church to look at Jesus once again. He wants us to go back and re-read who Jesus said He was in the word and in our world. The book of John is our starting point in gaining a distinct, specific view of who Jesus said He was in the seven places he called himself "I AM." When John recorded Jesus' statements, he was giving us a beautiful revelation of Jesus Christ and delivering a shock to the religious world. That shock can still be felt today.
