Book excerpt: The summary of the European trade union anti-discrimination and diversity study highlights six key findings of the study, five selected case studies among the 15 presented in the study and key suggestions for action. The study identifies 130 significant or innovative initiatives among 280 anti-discrimination and pro-equality trade union initiatives in 34 European countries. It maps out the geographical distribution of these initiatives and outlines the forms of discrimination they aim to combat. 15 case studies were selected and are presented in detail. The study also looks at the thematic areas covered and the role played by both legislation and equality bodies. Finally, gaps in the current action are identified and suggestions made for the future.
