Sites where archaeological and historical evidence of palaeoseismic events is investigated include Mycenae, Late Helladic III Kynos, 13th century BC Tiryns and Late Minoan Crete. Others adopt a scientific approach to the effects of earthquakes such as the uplift of Greek coastal sites, the disappearance of Dioscuria and Sebastopolis in Colchis and the collapse of the Mycenaean palace system.
