Book excerpt: The Central Virginia Genealogical Association's primary publication, Central Virginia Heritage, dates from 1983. Our research interests are primarily on the old counties of Albemarle, Augusta, Hanover, and Orange; that is, the present Piedmont counties of Albemarle, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Buckingham, Campbell, Culpeper, Fluvanna, Goochland, Greene, Hanover, Louisa, Madison, Nelson, and Orange, and the Shenandoah Valley counties of Augusta, Page, Rockingham, and Shenandoah. However, if useful articles come to us on research in other nearby counties of Virginia, we will happily consider them for publication. The current issue (v.37, no.1/2) contains articles on Genealogy During the Pandemic; John Burnley vs. William Crenshaw, Louisa County, VA, 1801; Marriage Announcements in the Daily Progress (Charlottesville, VA) May-July 1895; Division of the Slaves of Thomas Jackson, dec'd., Louisa County, VA, February, 1802; Lists of Amelia County, Appomattox County, and Greene County Sheriffs, and more.
