In cooperative environments, an individual can not work solo without sharing information and knowledge with other colleagues and team members. Matrix organizations, in specific, need to pay more attention to these issues because of their structure nature. The research aimed to review several communication and coordination strategies used in organizations to present a proper plan for a matrix organization. Awareness in workplace is considered commonly as an important factor for enhancing communication and coordination. The main contribution of this study is suggesting a communication and coordination plan based on fifteen awareness aspects that are either extracted from literature or suggested by the author. The study is conducted on a matrix organization, by investigating the existence of these aspects. Accordingly, the plan is presented concentrating on the weak aspects found in the organization under study.
