Book excerpt: In this mini-guide I address those who know nothing about Microsoft Copilot, the artificial intelligence developed by Microsoft and also adopted within the Microsoft 365 suite. After a brief introduction on the evolution of the different versions of GPT, I go on to describe the meaning of prompts, the types of intelligence possessed by Copilot, the difference between "Copilot web" and "Copilot work" with some use cases, integration with the Microsoft 365 suite, the reliability of the information generated by Copilot, and the difference between the help of an "experienced human" and AI. The topic of sustainability in AI use is then addressed and a brief mention of the new Copilot Studio for building custom AI. The language adopted is quite simple precisely so that the target audience of this text can understand the potential offered by this evolving tool.
