Book excerpt: Ableism is embedded in Canadian criminal justice institutions, policies, and practices, making incarceration and institutionalization dangerous – even deadly – for disabled people. Disability Injustice examines disability in contexts that include policing and surveillance, sentencing and the courts, prisons and alternatives to confinement.
