Book excerpt: The nature of this volume is tutorial but a little different than most as it is almost entirely pictorial. Photography is a visual medium and as such this book is to be seen, and each image analyzed and considered carefully to gain a better understanding of edge lighting and what it can do, and cannot do, for your photography. It is hoped that the student photographer will not only learn about edge lighting but will also be better able to visualize the image, and arrange lights long before the first image is taken. The lighting herein demonstrated (edge lighting, or rim lighting) has been of the simplest form to help the reader observed the affects of edge light. Two models were used to create these examples. This book contains approximately 240 full page color and monochrome images and as per the title contains artistic female nudity.
