Going into this surgery I had no belief in God and hadn't in over 15 years. I was bitter and angry at the thought of God because if He did exist He had taken my seven-year old son in a tragic accident. During the time in the operating room I was given the gift of knowing God, feeling His presence and peace then "all hell broke loose," as I plummeted into the horrific pit of darkness and burning pain with no hope of ever hitting the bottom.
