Book excerpt: The Chapperon Group is a succession of Palaeozoic, variably metamorphosed and deformed sedimentary & volcanic rocks thought to have originated in a continental margin or back-arc basin, occupying a belt flanking the western margin of the Okanagan Batholith in the Vernon area of interior British Columbia. This report summarizes previous research on the Group, discusses relevant problems worthy of investigation (related to unconformities, stratigraphy, & lithology), and presents results of 1999 field work that examined Chapperon Group rocks in the Salmon River Canyon area.
