In her book, Love and Compassion...Spiritual Solutions for our Politics and our Lives!, Peggy Green-Ernst applies Jesus Christ's message to the current national issues facing the United States of America. She focuses on many questions that Americans are discussing today. Will Social Security be available for younger generations? Is universal health care a viable option? Can we prevent future financial crises, like the Great Recession of 2008? Is climate change a threat? Is the military industrial complex on autopilot? Are we prepared to compete in a global economy? Why is a national retail sales tax better than the current income tax system? She also analyzes the two party political system, campaign finance reform, congressional term limits, and alternative voting systems. Utilizing her decades of political experience and her international childhood due to her father's military career, she adds personal stories as she examines the historical evolution of these issues, and offers compassionate solutions for Americans to consider. Peggy served for 11 years as Executive Director of a national organization for the housing and financial services industry, and for several years as Director of Government Relations for a major manufacturing company. Her volunteer positions included a gubernatorial appointment as a State of Texas Commissioner to the Texas National Research Laboratory Commission, as well as serving on the Board of Directors and as the Director of Government Relations for Americans For Fair Taxation. She earned her Master's in Business Administration degree at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
