It was established by a Bengali film producer Birendranath Sarkar or B.N Sarkar, he was one of the legend of Indian film industry as he received Dadasaheb Phalke Award of 1970. The studio was formed on 10 February 1931, the main motto of B.N Sarkar was 'Jivatang Jyotiretu Chhayam' which means light infusing shadow with life. Slowly and slowly this studio became world famous.
