Book excerpt: The Plastics Challenge Badge is an educational material aimed at inform young people and raise awareness on the environmental implications of the use of plastics. The booklet is designed to educate youth on plastic pollution and contains a wide range of practical activities to be implemented alone or as a group to learn about plastics and sustainability also through games and fun activities. All activities are targeted at different age-groups and aims at creating behaviour change between youth, promote sustainable lifestyles and engagement in environmental protection. It is divided into three sections. The first explains what plastic is and shows it current widespread use in daily life. The second explains how plastic have become a serious environmental problem, anf how they hinder the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The thrid one is encouraging youth in taking concrete action and become active agents of change in their local communities.
