Book excerpt: This book is an adventure that takes place on an island in a fantasy world that is much like the world imagined by JRR Tolkien for several of his books. The economy is much like that of our historical medieval world but some of the people are able to use magic spells and devices. Typical weapons are swords, clubs, spears, bows and arrows. The people are of several different races including Humans, Dwarves, Erebans, and some others. A group of seven young people who have never met each other before are assembled by Sarah Swift to search for her father, Robert Swift, who has not returned from an expedition to deliver furniture that he is selling in various parts of the island. The group encounters several unexpected situations as they go to places that they have never been before. They get to know each other and cooperate to try to achieve their objectives.
