The specific objectives are as follows: 1. to develop and estimate a block recursive forecasting model of the U.S. farm machinery investment sector with regional delineation recognizing the possible linkages between interrelated variables relevant to the farming sector. 2. to analyze the effects of energy price policies on regional and national investments in farm machinery. 3. to analyze the impact of alternative levels of crop support prices on farm machinery investments. 4. to forecast farm machinery investments up to 1990 under alternative export level scenarios.
