The total number of deaths from the same diseases in 1887 was 813, or 232 more than for 1886. Small-pox has been discovered in but four instances. They were removed to the hospital, and all recovered. In 1886 there was one case, and no death. Scarlet Fever was more prevalent, especially during the last quarter of the year, and the type was more severe.
