What important lesson does Mr. Bryant draw from the life of the fringed gentian? 5. Lead your pupils to see that Mr. Bryant is indeed "the poet of nature"; that he would observe such common things as the migrations of birds and the peculiar habits of a simple flower, and from these facts obtain inspiring thoughts and express them in such beautiful language that mankind is lifted up to nobler things by the reading thereof.
