Book excerpt: A three part series about twelve-year-old Travis Allen. Travis must move to New York City when he father takes a job with a national cable TV network. Travis is a junior black belt karate champion. After arriving in New York and starting school, he meets twelve-year-old Amy Stewart, a ballerina, who does not fit in very well with her other classmates. Travis becomes interested in the ballet much to the chargin of his sports minded father. His mother, however, is somewhat supportive. Failure to maintain his championship karate form, Travis resorts to teaching a bully karate to be accepted. Part one finds Travis struggling to maintain his championship form in a new competitive area. Part two has Travas struggling with his desires to learn ballet and continue his karate. Part three finds Travis and Amy traveling to Tucson Arizona to further their ballet and karate careers.
