Book excerpt: The objective of the underwater facility assessments conducted at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, was to provide an evaluation of the structural condition of four (4) selected piers, three (3) bulkheads and two (2) seawalls. Inspection of the facilities was limited by the scope of the project to a visual/tactile evaluation by diving engineers. Significant representative defects were photo-documented. The facilities were evaluated to be in fair to good condition.
